Frequently asked questions
Can we hold our nikah at Mosquée Madani?
Send us your date, roughly how many guests you expect, and whether you need the legal marriage as well. We'll look into availability at Mosquée Madani and usually reply within 15 minutes, inshaAllah. If the date does not work there, we'll suggest other options in Montreal.
What do we need for a legal marriage in Quebec?
Only if you want the marriage legally registered. Quebec has no marriage licence: an officiant authorized in Quebec publishes a notice of the marriage at least 20 days before the ceremony and files the declaration afterwards. For a religious-only nikah, none of this is needed.
Can you also arrange an imam?
Yes. Tick the box on the enquiry form and we'll match you with an imam serving Montreal who can conduct the ceremony in your language. Every imam listing shows clearly whether they are a registered marriage officiant or perform the religious ceremony only.
What does it cost?
It depends on the venue, the imam, and any add-ons like a certificate or photographer. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll put together a clear breakdown before you commit to anything.
